U of Miami?

We are at this winery in the countryside, really in the middle of no where, and all of the sudden we hear "hey Miami".  Tony's wearing his U of Miami shirt and this guy says, "I went there in the 50s before there was a football team".

This couple is from NY, moved to Florida, and now live in Abruzzo.  If you know of any New Yorkers who have moved to Florida, then you'll know just the type.  He thinks he's a comedian and she is well just a piece of work.  Anyway, I digress...  So they go on to tell us about moving to Italy.  I won't bore you with the whole story, you've already heard about how hard it is to rebuild a country home.  Nothing goes right, everything the Italians do is wrong and she has to read the 60 page instructions in Italian to get any thing to work.

I will tell you one funny tidbit though and an epiphany I had after one of their stories...

You have to get this card to live in the country for more than three months, basically you need to prove you have enough money to live there and won't take any money from the government.  Well part of the process is getting fingerprinted.  You have to go to this one town about an hour away, who only does this one day a week and only a few hours a day.  So they go a couple weeks in a row and both times the machine is broken.  So the next time they are going to go they decide to call first and ask if the machine is fixed.  They are told, "of course it works", so they go again.  You guessed it, it doesn't work.  The reason for the fingerprinting is to run a check and make sure you aren't wanted by the law.  So the Italians ask them, "are you wanted for a crime?"  When they say no, they tell them to write it on a piece of paper.  So they write, "I am not wanted for a crime", then the Italians put it in their file and give them the card!

This is their discription of dealing with Italians; you ask them a question, but before you finish the sentence they say, "no". Then you ask again and they say, "no".  Then you ask a little differently the third time and they start to come around and by the fourth time you find out what you are asking about is just around the corner.  And this is when my epiphany happens, OMG I say to myself, this is EXACTLY like dealing with Tony!  But by the fourth time it's probably become his idea.  Do you think there is something to this heredity thing???
